Vegetable derived, white flake form. Used in lip sticks and balms, makeup pencils, deodorants,

Emulsifying Wax
NF A blend with a cocoa & palm oil base. NOTE:
This Wax is a blend that the manufacturer has applied and obtained a
nomenclature for, which means that the ingredient list is legally protected,
so we are unable to obtain an exact ingredient listing for this product.
They did, however advise us that it is not
tested or treated with any of the following: detergent, fatty esters or SLS; and
to their knowledge, this product does not contain phosphorus. We've used it extensively in our products, and find it to create a very
consistent product when compared to other waxes. Easy to incorporate, it is a
mild ingredient with a proven safety record and has been used successfully in
the cosmetic industry for years. It produces thick, solid emulsions without the
addition of stiffening waxes, even at concentrations as low as 5%, although 10%
may provide superior stability. No neutralization is needed in the formulation
of creams and lotions. Price:

ESSENTIAL OIL DISPERSANT This
product is extracted from sweet almond oil 95% of the time or palm oil if sweet
almond oil is not available. The component extracted are the triglycerides,
which are the same in sweet almond as they are in palm. The extraction is done
using a combination of heat and pressure. The heat/pressure fractionation
process is the only way to produce the dispersant. (note: this is not the same
product as Polysorbate 20) It blends your essential oils together with your water based treatments such as baths, body spritzers, room sprays and other items. Your essential oils will no longer float on top of your water. Simple to use, economical, just mix equal amounts of dispersant with your essential oils, add your water mixture and you're done. GERMALL PLUS (LIQUID) We have been getting so many requests for a mild preservative, that we have decided to put it up on our website for those of you who wish to make use of it in your products. A bit about our use of Germall Plus: When we made the decision to use a preservative in our lotion formulations for our clients safety, we went to the experts, and told them we wanted a safe, mild, preservative that would inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeasts, molds and organisms in our products. They recommended Germall Plus. With Germall Plus, no other additional preservatives need to be added to the final product, saving formulation time and added expense. It is ideal for skin care applications, hair care and rinse off formulations, including shampoos, conditioners, gels, hair sprays and body wash formulations. This salt is high in sodium, magnesium and potassium, having a specific gravity greater than that of the Dead Sea, and a salinity of 12%, 3.5 times that of ordinary sea water. Natrasorb is designed to absorb the excess oil and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. If you mix a fragrance or essential oil with NatraSorb you get what some call a "powdered scent". It becomes a little sticky, but it is still dry. When combined with the rest of the powder ingredients it mixes in, evenly distributing the scent. PEG 150 A thick syrupy clear liquid used to thicken products like shampoos, bath gels or liquid soaps. Easy to blend in. In most cases the end result will be clear, provided the PH is %.0 or higher. Polysorbate 20 Derived from lauric acid, this ingredient is used as an emulsifier used in cosmetic creams and lotions. It also acts as a dispersant for essential oils in water, with a non-clouding effect. Powdered Oatmeal When added to a bath, Oatmeal helps moisturize, soothe and relieve minor skin irritations. In addition, it acts as a soothing agent which helps reduce redness and itching. Minor skin irritations caused by dermatitis, eczema, poison oak, chicken pox, insect bites, sunburn and excessively dry skin may all be temporarily relieved by oatmeal baths. SODIUM LACTATE One of the latest ingredients that's been causing a buzz among Soapmakers It has been reported that soap will harden in the mold quicker then a batch without Sodium Lactate, as well as losing less weight when curing. Those who have tried it also say that soaps unmold easier when using Sodium lactate in their recipe. Sodium Lactate (a natural salt derived from lactic acid) is best known for it's use as a moisturizer in skin care products. In skin, sodium lactate is part of the natural moisturizing factor. They perform many functions in skin care products such as: Moisturize, increase hydration, boost humectancy, exfoliate, lighten skin, regulate pH, and act as antimicrobial agents. The product we carry is a 60% solution (60% sodium lactate and 40% water) To incorporate into soap, those who have tried it, recommend adding 1/2- 1 oz of SL per pound of oils. Sunscreen Powder Parsol®
1789 (INCI: We are quite excited about this product especially after seeing Dr. Pat Wexler, one of the most sought-after dermatologists in the USA on the "Oprah" show recently.
It protects against long wavelength UVA rays, while most traditional products with sunscreen protect primarily against UVB and short wavelength UVA rays. Long wavelength UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin than UVB rays and can cause excessive dryness, fine lines and wrinkles, irregular skin pigmentation and even a weakening of the skin's immune system, and cancer. Lauroyl Sarcosinate An extremely mild surfactant, having a good wetting, foaming
and conditioning agent all in one. This ingredient is useful in
formulating facial washes or skin cleansers. Is safely used as a foaming agent
for toothpastes and other dental products. Sarcosines are
found in starfish and sea urchins. Because of their excellent foaming
qualities, they are also safely used in shampoos.
